Advisory is a regularly scheduled time when students have the opportunity to interact with a group of peers and a teacher-advisor. During this time, students build community, set goals and discuss topics such as decision-making and managing conflict. Advisory is also a time to check grades and complete work. The class meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and students’ Advisory teacher is on of their regular teachers they see throughout the day

The years of adolescence (ages 11 – 15) can be a very rewarding time as well as a time of self discovery and struggle. Adolescence is the developmental transition to adulthood that includes rapid changes in the brain and body, often at different rates and is a time for healthy exploration of identity and learning independence. It can also be stressful or challenging for teens because of these rapid changes.
