Several days a week, parent volunteers staff the BMS game room during lunchtime, to give the students other options.  Many friendships and connections are made at the game table, soon be named the Viking Corner.  There are coloring books, numerous board games, Lego blocks, playing cards, etc.

Donations would be greatly appreciated for the following items.  These can be brought to the school office marked “Game Room.”

·         Lego blocks-odd pieces, partial sets, left-over pieces, simple bricks, basics like wheels, wings, food and people.  We believe in keeping them for your own families for as long as possible (kids don’t seem to outgrow them,) but IF you are still determined to give them to the Goodwill, try us first!

·         Colored pencils

·         Mancala Sets-very popular

·         Othello sets-very popular

·         Jenga

·        Grown-up coloring books

Volunteers: This is a perfect, low-key and fulfilling place to volunteer directly with students for one afternoon a month, twice a month or even weekly.  The students are wonderful, grateful and love to play board games with adults.  Please contact: Kristin Kamm at  if you are interested in being on our list for the remainder of this year, or starting next year.  Some parents share this job by alternating days with each other.
